Our Pastor

Get to know me.

Pastor Anthony Kim trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord in January 2005, resting in the Savior’s gracious invitation: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” (Matthew 11:28–29). From the beginning of his walk with Christ, he sought to live faithfully before God, embracing the Lord’s words, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much” (Luke 16:10), and taking to heart the stewardship lessons of the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. Much of his early Christian life was shaped by simply being faithful in the little things.

As Pastor Kim continued to obey God’s call, the Lord opened doors for him to help plant All of Grace Baptist Church, where he served in various leadership roles. During this season, God also blessed him with his wife, Baiyang, and later with two daughters, Chloe and Danielle, for whom he gives thanks daily.

In mid‑2024, the Lord placed upon his heart the desire to serve as a pastor—“This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work” (1 Timothy 3:1). With that desire came the sober awareness of the biblical qualifications laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9, which emphasize a life of integrity, spiritual maturity, and godly leadership. In God’s providence, this calling aligned with the succession plan of Calvary Road Baptist Church, under the faithful ministry of Dr. John Waldrip. The transition included a transfer of membership, followed by seasons of serving as associate pastor and co‑pastor. In January 2026, Pastor Kim became the senior pastor of Calvary Road Baptist Church.

Pastor Kim holds deeply the biblical priorities of life: first being a Christian, then a husband, a father, and finally a pastor. He strives to shepherd the flock with the heart of Acts 20:28, which declares: “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”

His desire is simple and steadfast: to exalt Christ, to preach the Word faithfully, and to shepherd God’s people with grace, truth, and a heart wholly dependent upon the Lord.
