DOES AN ENEMY SPEAK TRUTH
Galatians 4.12-20

Paul uses four approaches in his attempt to bring his friends back to the truth.

1A.  HE REMOVES IMPOSITIONS (12)

1B.  First, the Galatian’s identity with Paul

2B.  Second, the Galatian’s injury of Paul

2A.  HE RECALLS HIS INFIRMITIES (13-15)

1B.  His reason for going to Galatia
“Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.”

2B.  Their response to Paul in Galatia
“And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.”

3B.  Paul’s request of those in Galatia
“Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.”

3A.  THE THIRD APPROACH PAUL USES INVOLVES REBUKING INDIVIDUALS (16-18)

1B.  First, the churches’ membership
“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”

2B.  Next, the churches’ attackers
“They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.”

3B.  Then, the Churches’ pastors
“But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.”

4A.  THE FINAL APPROACH IS WHAT I CALL RELIVING IMPLANTATION (19-20)

1B.  Notice His Address
“My little children”

2B.  Next, Notice His Agony
“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you”

3B.  Finally, Paul’s Attitude
“I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.”
